Utah dairy and beef cattle producers can obtain assistance for funding of the initial testing in their herd for Johnes Disease and in developing a plan to control it or keep it out. Do one of the following:

  1. Call the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (801-538-7161) and tell them that you would like to conduct the Johnes Disease blood test in your herd. (The UDAF will pay for the lab costs involved in the blood testing of 30 cows. This funding was obtained from the 2001 Legislature.)
  2. You can also enroll in the Utah Cattle Health Assurance Plan (UCHAP). (The UDAF applied for and received some special grants which provide the funding for this project.)
