The most precious natural resource in Castle Country is water. Price River and its tributaries supply precious agricultural and culinary water to thousands of people and businesses in the area. Several projects are being discussed and developed to improve our water conservation and quality. In the upper portion of the Price River Russian olive is becoming a major concern. Monocultures are developing and access to the River is being choked out by these infestations.
The Skyline CWMA is working with other partners to clear out the Russian olive and replace it with native vegetation. This project will take several years and care must be taken to avoid erosion problems. Residents are welcome to get involved in the beautification of our river.
