livestock production

Livestock production is the main focus of agriculture in Carbon County. Most of the crops grown are to feed the livestock industry. The mountains surrounding the county and the desert of the lower elevations provide significant summer and winter range for the beef cattle and sheep industries. This close tie with rangeland resources necessitates local producers working with wildlife and natural resource management agencies of the federal and state governments.

The links to the right will help provide information to livestock producers designed to optimize profitability and good stewardship of the land.
