Horses

Horses, as a power unit for travel and production are mostly a thing of the past. For ranching they still serve a very useful purpose, helping ranchers move, gather, and work cattle. The majority of modern horses no longer serve that utilitarian purpose.

However, many people still gain great pleasure from horses. Whether it is riding cross-country "goin your own way" on the desert, or riding many of the beautiful trails in the castle country, horseback riding in the Castle Country can provide many hours of peaceful pleasure. This webpage will provide links to resources that may provide useful to horse owners. If you have a non-profit horse group that would like to have a link from this page please contact the Carbon County Extension Office at 435-636-3233, or email the Agriculture Extension Agent.
