Horses

Horses as a power unit for travel and production are mostly a thing of the past. For ranching they still serve a very useful purpose, helping ranchers move, gather, and work cattle. The majority of modern horses no longer serve that utilitarian purpose.

However, many people still gain great pleasure from horses. Whether it is riding cross-country "goin' your own way" on the desert, or riding many of the beautiful trails in the Castle Country, horseback riding can provide many hours of peaceful pleasure. This web page will provide links to resources that may provide useful information to horse owners. If you have a non-profit horse group that would like to have a link from this page, please contact the Carbon County Extension Office at (435) 636-3233, or email the agricultural Extension agent.
