About the Recipient: Kathy Riggs has a M.S. degree from Brigham Young University in Family Sciences/Home Economics Education; her B.S. degree is also from BYU in Family Resource Management with a Minor in Food Science & Nutrition. She holds the rank of Professor with USU Extension. Kathy is a Certified Family and Consumer Sciences Professional (CFCS)through the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and holds a Food Safety Manager Certification (FSMC) from the State of Utah. She currently serves as the State Project Director for the Children, Youth and Families at Risk initiative and is an active member of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA), the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Epsilon Sigma Phi and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She also manages or co-manages the following grant programs in her county: 4-H Volunteer Development Fund,Youth and Families with Promise, and Food Sense Nutrition Education Program.
