Margie P. Memmott

 

Award Description: The award recognizes NEAFCS members who have previously received the Distinguished Service Award and continue to be actively involved in professional improvement programs, the promotion of professional development of others, and leadership.

About the Recipient: An active faculty member of Utah State University Extension for 16+ years, Margie works on a local, state, regional and national level to empower others to apply life skills in consumer resource management, finance, nutrition and health, food preservation, family and human development, community development, volunteer leadership, and youth development.

Margie has been the USU Extension Agent for Juab County since July 1993 and is currently serving as the County Director. Her role assignment is Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development. She also supervises the Food Sense Nutrition Education Program for Juab. Margie recently completed a two year term as the Western Region Director of the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS). In her spare time she enjoys traveling, music, technology, creative textiles, sports and her family.
