Gauge Testing
The purpose for getting your dial-type pressure canner gauge tested is to ensure that the equipment you use at home, especially for low acid home food preservation, is safe for the health and well-being of individuals and families. Prevention of potential botulism food poisoning should be at the forefront in assuring that you have calibrated gauges for altitude changes so that you can safely can food at home.
Scheduled dates: There are currently no scheduled dates.
Gauges will be tested free of charge on these dates. All other days there is a $1.00 per gauge fee. Please call the Iron County Extension Office to schedule an appointment 586-8132.
If you have a weighted gauge, use the 15 lb. weight for all low acid foods.
